Playing music from android phone in same network
BeantwortetI would like to have a possibility to play music from my android phone when I'm in same network with BluOS amplifier (Nad CI 720). I can play form network drives/shares, can play via BT receiver connected to BluOS amplifier (which is not best quality experience), but I can't play music directly from my phone through WiFi network. Phone is easiest way to quickly play music from internal Android memory (where I keep some of my favorite audio tracks). Is it possible to add this feature to BluOS?

Hi ErpeThis is not allowed as it strictly violates the security of your phone and has been disabled by Android and iOS some time ago. The solution is www.bluesound.com/bluetooth and have your guests connect as a Guest.

Thank you. This could be a great improvement to get "smartphone library" available for playing directly on BluOs devices. I noticed all of my friends would like to share music files on my BluOs amplifier when there is a party, meeting or just evening with friends. Everyone has its favorite music to be shared with others.... most often kept on their smartphone internal memory or available via their own music services. With this features available (play from phone memory which is in the same network as BluOs amplifier) music sharing could be more natural and brings more adventures :) No need for BT - you are in same WiFi network - play your music!

Thanks for your answer Tony, but its (sorry for saying that) sounds a bit unreal...
If I can't share files from my phone (Android) next step will be laptops and Windows? BluOs become unusable? This is the same case, isn't it? Especially I can share content of my phone internal memory with many other services and devices, so why not with music amplifier? Can't believe it "strictly violates security of my phone". I can share phone located files with smart TV, computers, other phones, network disks, etc. - why not with amplifier? There is something wrong with the BluOS crew understanding of possibilities and rights.
Playing via bluetooth could be a solution, but we all know this is not the best ones for sound quality. There should be a way to play files directly from smartphone memory (same as playing from Windows or iOS devices).
cheers,

Playing via bluetooth could be a solution, but we all know this is not the best ones for sound quality.
All Bluesound Players manufactured after 2018 use AptX-HD. If there is a weak link in that chain, it would be on the phone side.

You are right. That's smartphone side issue. But why users of such a sophisticated BluOS should be responsible for audio quality on BluOs devices? Isn't just simpler to make this feature available on BluOS side via network?
- to use BT on most of the devices you need to plug-in additional BT receiver to amplifier (not all have build in BT feature - mine NAD CI 720 does not have BT support). This is another possible sound disruption.
- Additional device uses Audio-in input. I do have only one Audio-in, so I can use BT instead of CD, Phono, TV or any other sound device. Or use a "divider". Why, when there is a possibility to share music by WiFi?
BluOs could be the best audio "receiver" if only build with all features possible. And I believe it's possible to add Smartphone internal disks as music source on same network. Maybe requires some smart work on BluOs development side :)
