BluOS had a feature to play local files from a phone but they removed it under the cover of "security", like it's not secure to stream from phone to a receiver but it's just a bunch of lazy excuse!!!

    Hi Deniel

This feature was removed in 2016 at the request of Apple as it violated the security requirements of iOS as it allowed your iPhone or iPad to be remotely controlled or hacked through this service. Android quickly followed suit.

Since then AirPlay has been added.

Back to the OP's request, a proper SMB connection via NAS Sharing is best but as Seppi stated, Bluetooth and a USB stick in the back are also options. No, you cannot connect the phone directly to the USB port and have it read the phone that way. Both are not available in Android or iOS.

I used to have Yamaha AVR with Musicast app that allows that thing, how it that App that is still regularly maintained Hase this option but BluOS would brake Google TOS?

No, Musicast is name of Yamaha's app ( like BluOS controller for BlueSound devices ) that stream files (BitPerfect) from phone to to Yamaha's AVR's.

But this does not use Chromecast as Chromecast is not BitPerfect and also older AVR ( like my old RX-V683 ) with Musicast do not have Chromecast and yet you can stream BitPerfect audio from phone.
