Technical information of played stream
I was very curious, what the BluOS 4,0 will bring to us in spring. On one hand, it is very disappointing that the release was postponed until October. On the other hand there is more time to fulfill the needs of your customer.
Therefore I´d like to point out, what I asked you several times in the past years.
Please state the technical details like filetype, bit depth, bit rate and sampling frequency of any audio stream, regardless of origin (NAS, Streaming Service, digital inputs, internet radio station s and so on) on the now playing screen. If you think, some people are overstrained with that information, create a switch in the settings where everybody can set this function as he likes.
I own several Bluesound devices an a NAD C 658. This is praised as a BluOS Streaming DAC. I use the digital inputs and the only thing I can see in the app and the display of the C 658 is the name of the input, very poor. DAC´s that I used 15 years before had at least LED´s to indicate the technical information of the incoming signal. Here we have a display and an app, whose plenty of space it totally wasted.
The existing way via three dots/Technical Info is not an adequate alternative because it is awkward and works only on NAS content.
Please consider my thoughts when adding functions to the Release 4.0

The scheduled release for BluOS 4.0 was moved to October - https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/11980727766807-BluOS-4-0-spring-2023-announcement-
As for the sampling frequency, this is one of the most requested features to be added to BluOS 4.0.
Thank you for your patience and thank you for #LivingHiFi
