2 questions and 1 wish regarding MQA processing
Beantwortet1. Do Bluesound Network Players and NAD C658 support MQA processing via the external digital inputs (RCA and Toslink)? Unfortunately when listening from a source that is connected to a digital input, neither the app nor the C 658 display tells me anything about sampling rate or bit depth.
2. I ripped a MQA-CD (MEIKO "Playing Favorites" from Chesky) and play this album from my NAS. The MQA light shines blue, the technical information tells me:
samling rate: 44100 Hz
bit depth: 16 bits
I expect some information about the unfolded bit depth an sampling rate. When playing purchased MQA files (for example Hoff Ensemble "POLARITY"), the technical information tells me:
sampling rate: 44100 Hz
bit depth: 24 bits
MQA original: 352800 Hz
To which resolution is the MEIKO album unfolded, if it is even unfolded?
Wish: Please show the technical information not only when playing streaming content, show it as well when playing via external digital inputs. The C 658 is not just a player, it is a Preamp, Streamer and DAC. At least a DAC with a built-in display should show more than just the name of the input. The optimum is that both, display and app would show more information.

Hi Tom
1) Via analogue input processing is complete so no. Via digital in yes.
2) It depends on how the file was encoded. If encoded as MQA it should render it natively up to 24/192. I would speak with the support team for the encoding process to ensure it is being encoded properly.
Bonus: Thanks for the feedback - it has been passed along to our Product Development Team.

Hello Bluesoud Team,
one year has passed since I sent you my questions.
Question No. 2 has not been answered until now. What is the response of the support team? Do you need further information to answer my question?
One year after sending you what I expect from a DAC, that has 4 digital inputs, my BluOS Streaming DAC does not tell anything about the incoming signal, just the name of the input is shown, very poor. Within that period of time, many firmware updates have been released, with no useful extension of functionality.

I was very patient, now it´s time to answer my questions.

Hi Tom - sorry for the confusion;
I would speak with the support team for the encoding process to ensure it is being encoded properly.
You can contact the Support Crew by selecting Help, Send Support Request in the App so they can review the log file of the player and assist.
I apologise again if that was not clear.
