Powernode N150 "bricked" with 3.14.5
BeantwortetMy Powernode N150, with a broken backup battery (thread has been deleted by Bluesound (!), looses settings after a power cycle or reboot. Well, it is something I'm going to repair myself eventually, but so far hadn't been a problem as I could reinstall the (wired) device within a minute.
But with the latest firmware that was automatically installed on this n150 (3.14.5) this powernode remains in "installation needed" status, as the update procedure can't be completed. It always fails, forcing a reboot of the device. Which means that all settings are lost again. I end up in an endless loop. I cannot play any music, as the device shows as "installation needed" in the app, nor does it appear in Tidal or Spotify. Result: a "bricked" Powernode N150 which worked fine (even with a broken battery) up to the last update.
Can anybody help me with a (USB-based??) firmware update procedure that makes my device play music again?

Hi Seppi, the firmware on the n150 is the same as the USB firmware version. It doesn't resolve the issue.
If anybody would have a firmware version older than 3.14.5, I could try downgrading.

A downgrade does not help - but I have escalated your issue to our Support Crew - they will be in touch.

Hi Tony, I've submitted the question through the powernode as well. Thanks for your reaction!

Hi all, I've resolved the firmware issue finally working with the Bluesound support team (thanks Nishchal). It took 5 times of manually updating the firmware before it started working again as expected.
As the functionality of my powernode n150 has not been fully restored (still loosing settings after a powercycle, not synchronising my music library from my powernode 2i/node 2i, I'm still working on getting the rest resolved.

I big shout out to the terrific support of Nishchal of the Bluesound support team; he fixed my "powernode loosing settings" problem through teamviewer and the manual update to 3.14.20 (available as of Today) fixed my library issue. So... my Powernode is working as normal.... and I'm extremely happy. Thanks, Bluesound!
