If this is really an issue anno 2024, Bluesound shame on you. I ordered a nano today but now i’m wondering if it needs to be send back asap. Any smart device should have basic security.

    Hi Meulendikjsrob

As mentioned in the official answer, Bluesound Players can only have one device paired at a time. If set to Manual once you have paired or Disabled all together, The Bluesound Player is secure.

    1. In the BluOS Controller app, select the Players tab .
    2. Select the player currently connected to the Bluetooth device.
    3. Select the Music tab  and under the Inputs section, select Customise > Bluetooth. The Bluetooth window appears.
    4. Select any of the following modes:
    • Manual: This mode allows you to manually switch between Bluetooth as a local source in the Inputs section of the Music tab .
    • Automatic (default mode selected): This mode automatically switches to the Bluetooth source when a Bluetooth-connected device starts playing audio. You can switch between sources in the Inputs section of the Music tab .
    • Guest: This mode switches the Bluesound player to the Bluetooth source when your connected Bluetooth device starts playing audio. However, switching sources disconnects the Bluetooth connection. The Bluetooth source is not displayed under the Inputs section of the Music tab . This configuration is ideal for streaming audio from multiple Bluetooth-enabled devices.
    • Disabled: This mode turns off the Bluetooth receiver on the player.

    Hello Tony W,

The standard response is mostly related to the input switching. We are talking about restricting devices to connect (when unknown to the Node).
A user wants to be able to register his devices like all the phones in the household. If these are known to the device, it should except those without issue and reject all new devices. This setting seems to be missing in the current options.

Nobody wants their neighbors to connect to their node and start playing music, do they? I just don’t get how BT has been implemented, reading this official answer.

You want it set to Manual then. The link I provided gives full details.
