    Hello Miles,

You might want to check if there are extraneous 'extended tags' on these specific tracks (and remove them entirely). I find Extended Tags tend to override the standard tags.

I am unsure how this would be done in your metadata editors, but when using MP3Tagger we usually recommend deleting every tag that isn't one of the following (Year is the last in the list):

    Hello Sam

Thanks for your advice. I have struggled to install MP3Tagger or MP3Tag on a Windows PC but I have installed Stamp ID3 Tag Editor.  Whereas other tag editors I use will open the offending .flac file and display its tags, this editor does not although it opens all the other files in the same album.  So there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with the one file after ripping that makes it invisible both to BluOS and Stamp ID3 Tag Editor.

Would it be worth ripping this track in a non-.flac format such as ALAC?

    Thanks

    Miles

    PS

I have re-ripped the offending track as an .m4a and BluOS has recognised it when reindexing the library.  However when I click on Technical information for that track nothing appears.  No matter, at least I can now play the track.
