Bluesound Network and VLANS
BeantwortetHi! Instead of bumping an old port I guess I do like this.
It's now possible to route multicast between different vlans, at least in my Ubiquity Unifi-setup.
What ports does Node 2i use to communicate within the network? For all local services to work.
I have my phones and other trusted devices in one VLAN and my Node 2i in another IoT VLAN.

Hi Anton
This is not a limitation of Bluesound or BluOS Players, it is a limitation of the mDNS protocol and a problem with a number of IoT Appliances. IF your router and switch VLANs allow for mDNS routing you should be okay. Make sure your network is setup properly to accommodate this.

Anton --- if you're going to be using mdns or bonjour/ multicasting on the local network, that protocol is going to use 224.0.0.251 as the broadcast address and port 5353 to communicate between nodes.
If you have any kind of software firewalling on your computers, see if they can allow bonjour/ mdns and that should take care of allowing communication across the network.
