    Hi,

    Well, Tony directed me also to NAD, and they stated that there's no HT by pass in the roadmap (without detailing this roadmap however). Lately there's a tendency to first add al lkinds of features (like Radio Paradise MQA) without solving current issues, like the bizarre remote  controle config, of the inconsistent source settings. 

    I'll ask to the NAD support if a seperate MDC for HT by pass (based on HDMI in stead of analog) would be an option, since analog won't work due to the ADC delay

    did you already tried to connect your AVR? Is the delay really noticeable?

    Nope, I don't have an AVR right now, I was thinking of getting one just to get my center and back speaker back in the action, and I'd like to use the M33 for my fronts. So I don't have any real life experience with the delay, however, I think it will be noticeable, at least as some weird echo kind of effect. With a MDC proposal, a delay will be present too, just to be clear, but at least this will be adjustable on M33 and AVR separately, so this will be manageable.

    just received my feedback from NAD customer service.

    What I am not sure about: When you level in the AVR, the AVR (with Audyssey MultEQ® XT32) sets the

    parameters for each speaker. So e.g. your front speaker has a cable of 50 meters it will set the delay for this speaker with the "distance". So maybe if you level in the AVR with connected M33 the leveling of the AVR will balance the delay of the M33 DAC???

    Hello Andre,

    Thank you for contacting the NAD Electronics Support Crew regarding your interest in the M33!

    Please be advised that the M33 does not have an HT Bypass or Fixed Volume feature. We have not been advised if that feature might be added or possible release date. 

    You will have to manually reset the M33's volume to match the AVR's other speaker levels each time the M33 is powered up from standby. This is due to the Volume Safety feature that reverts the volume to -40dB (50%) when the volume setting was higher when it enters standby.   

    Also, there is no analog bypass of the M33's DAC, therefore the AVR's signal would have to be processed by the ADC and then the DAC which introduces some latency in the audio processing.  If the AVR and M33's speakers are both playing a slight echo might be heard.

    I hope this info helps! I'm going to mark this ticket as solved for the time being.
