PowerNode with thumb drive music files

I initially owned (still do, actually, but not hooked up) a Vault 2i, and ripped a large number of CDs. When I play them back through the audio system, I could choose the Vault and / or my Pulseflex speaker and play the library. I didn't have to go to WiFi settings and choose either component.

I decided to streamline my system using a PowerNode with the music files on a thumb drive inserted into the Powernode. When I attempt to play using the Pusleflex only, I enable the wifi connection, but find I have to choose the Powernode as a player (along with the PulseFlex) before it will play the music files through the Pulseflex. I didn't have to do that with the Vault. Do I have a missed setting?
