Tidal sound quality issues
BeantwortetWhen I use Tidal trough the integration in BluOS I have noticed that there is an enormous different in output volume when i stream CD quality or when switch to MQA. This is only true within the BluOS app.

When I play trough my apple TV there's no volume difference with CD and MQA, also not tru when using other input sources that use Tidal. So I think this is only a bug for the BluOS app.

Since AppleTV cannot unfold MQA it's likely that what you are hearing is the CD stream from Tidal.

Do you have "Replay-gain" enabled?

@Bjorn, not sture, had to do a factory reset today and have not got it back up after. So i will check this later.
@braino: MQA is just a fancy name for flac right? And why is BluOS the only app i hear volume diffences in? When I use the Tidal app on my macbook for example of within PlexAmp, everything sounds volume-wise the same.

If you have done a factory reset, replay-gain will be off. Can be activated in; Settings - Audio
Basically, replay-gain will normalize the volume (so all tracks/album will be at the same "level"). That information is stored in the file, in your case with Tidal (FLAC), the information is delievered in the stream. MQA should not contain any Replay-gain information.0 -
@Beninho
Actually MQA is not FLAC.

@Bjorn, Replay-gain is off. Do you recommend turning it on to avoid the volume differences?
