Bluesound N100 (Gen 1) - RCA audio out volume very low
BeantwortetSo since today I am new Bluesound user :-) But as today used BS N100 came to me, I did some basic setup steps (rebooted to factory settings, connected it to my wifi network), then I have connected it to my Akai amplifier (AUX input) via RCA and launched Spotify - here I am little confused as I tried everything (in the BluOS and Spotify applications I gave max level volume), but to hear music at the CD volume at 9 o'clock I have to turn the volume up to around 13-14 o'clock!!! Is it normal? I found somewhere on the web that the BS N100 has an output level around 2V (just like most CD players). So either there is something wrong with this N100 or I am doing something wrong here. The software version of this N100 is the last one, i.e. 3.20.45. Any help would be very appreciated.

Disabled normalize in Spotify?
If you switch input on your amplifier, does the issue follow?0 -
Bjorn,
In Spotify settings I can see "normalize" disabled but this option is greyed out when I use BS node as listening device. I don't understand your "If you switch input on your amplifier, does the issue follow?", hm... Other sources (i.e. my CD player) plays normal (much higher) volume level if it is your question?

If you connect you Node to the CD input of your amplifier, does the issue follow?
Alos, try connecting your CD player to the Node, just to rule out if it's a "spotify" issue or a Node issue.0 -
Bjorn,
You wrote "If you connect you Node to the CD input of your amplifier, does the issue follow?" - this is what I did - /first/ I just connected my BS N100 to CD input = very low volume level, then /second/ I have connected to the same CD input my CD player = volume ok (pretty loud on 9 hour).
Your "second" advice "Alos, try connecting your CD player to the Node, just to rule out if it's a "spotify" issue or a Node issue." - hm, how can I connect my CD player to my BS Node N100? Is it possible at all??
In my opinion it is "node issue" as when I connect my smartphone to my CD input in my amplifier (using 3,5 jack <-> rca cable) then level of volume is ok (quite the same as from CD player itself).

Sorry, N100 don't have any inputs ;-)
You could try Radio Paradise in Music Services. If that is playing at the same level as Spotify, you should return the Node to whoever sold it to you and get your money back.0 -
Bjorn, I am afraid you are right. Thanks for your help and time!

One last check Pawel - in the Audio Settings of your NODE, are you using a variable of fixed volume? If you are using the volume control of your amplifier, then your NODE should be set to FIXED output. (Turn down your amp all the way off before doing this to avoid speaker damage).
