New Node N130 Audio Drop Outs and Low Volume
BeantwortetI received my new Node N130 today and so far I have spent several hours configuring and resetting and all sorts to get some form of stable audio output.
My system consists of Roon on a Mac Mini and the Node is connected via USB to a Topping E50 DAC which in turn is connected to a CA CXA80 amp. The Node is connected via a Ethernet 1GB to a switch which is then connected to my router.
Using Roon the audio drops out continuously. I scoured the web and found lots of posts for this issue. I followed the advice found such as using Coax and Toslink to the DAC, which improved things slightly or taking Roon out of the mix and using the BluOS app with my library configured. This also worked too. I revert back to Roon through the Coax and lo and behold I start to get drop outs again.
I then find a post that suggests a number of steps such as disconnecting the library share in BluOS and powering off the Node, then powering off the router, before powering back on the Router and then the Node. I also reconnected the USB. This yielded far less drop outs, but they are still apparent and mar the experience of listening to music hindrance free.
I then try Radio Paradise (MQA and CD) and both of these are almost inaudible even though I have turned the volume on my amp way past half way to hear something. The sound was exceptionally low. At this point, and after pulling my hair out, I changed to DAC to Coax before moving the setting back to USB (I didn't change the cables) and sound was restored. I tried the same thing again and once again the sound is virtually inaudible.
Also please note that Amazon Music also drops out whilst Qobuz is as stable as a rock and sounds excellent.
Can someone shed light on whether there is something I should be doing to get this to be stable? I really don't want to have to send the Node back or stop Roon but its looking like this may well be the case if I can't get this to work.
Thanks in advance
