Qobuz, looking for upgrade, need setup - it's all broken...
BeantwortetThis is a post for anyone looking for any support regarding networking and Bluesound node. I have a brand new node out of the box. I had an old node that worked for years. Both are now pretty much unusable because Bluesound doesn't care about their customers.
Factory reset, plugged into Ethernet. Force a "new device setup, caught in the infinite loop of looking for new firmware." Moved to a different network (neighbors), same thing - but after several tries, somehow got to a configuration screen and could configure Qobuz, Amazon Music, and Neil Young Archives.
Brought it home, reset, somehow - by chance I managed to cancel out of the upgrade loop on the iPhone app and got to the spot before.
Of course, Qobuz won't actually play. That would be ridiculous. No error message, loads the song and then just stops. Amazon and NYA work for now.
Move to the MAC Desktop application. That guy thinks the node needs a setup. Infinite loop looking for upgrade. Why? The iPhone app seems to think it's configured....
It's all just laughable. I've opened support tickets, they want to spend an hour of my time and install debugging software on my machine (I've been an engineer longer than they've been a company).
Forums are nothing but Tony W saying it's someone else's problem, file a ticket so they can take it offline because who would ever want to solve a problem in public where future people could benefit from it....
I mean, I could ask why my iPhone can control it, but the desktop app insists it needs to be "setup". But there won't be an explanation. I guarantee you Bluesound themselves have no idea what they're doing and wouldn't consider attempting to debug the problem.
I could ask again for the ability to help figure out why it's stuck in an infinite loop looking for an upgrade. I mean, what better consumer experience could you ask for than to take something out of the box, be forced to upgrade and be locked out of using it until an upgrade check is possible. That makes all kinds of sense. Not even a web page that shows the status of the upgrade servers. Are the bluesound upgrade servers down? Is your router blocking access to it? Who knows??? Just watch the spinning wheel...wheeeee...
Absolute rubbish from a company that simply doesn't care about their consumers in the least....
Do not buy Bluesound. If you have one and it happens to be working...do not upgrade it under any circumstances. Just hope and pray it keeps going because if you upgrade anything you will be lost.

Hi Erickson
I have escalated and reopened your case to our Support Crew so they can arrange a remote session and troubleshoot why your home network is causing so many issues with your experience. They will be in touch.
